Like migratory birds flying south for the winter, Angie and I spent the last 5 weeks splitting time between our families in Las Vegas and Austin for the holidays. We enjoyed balmy temperatures in the 60s and 70s – it was great. On Saturday night, however, we returned to our frozen winter wonderland home (or torture chamber, if you ask Angie) here in Boston.
From the airport, we initially missed the driveway to our house because it was hidden behind a 5-foot high embankment of snow. I’ll get pictures up here soon.
On my way to school this morning, it was negative 5 degrees with a wind chill of negative 25 to 30 degrees. We are currently that dark purple spot on the map below.
And we have this to look forward to over the next few days. Should be fun!
Then this to top it off.
I also just read an article that says this will likely be the coldest winter since the 1980s, with “wintry events” lasting well into April. It was written by a guy by the name of Bastardi. Coincidence?
Don’t tell Angie, but I think I secretly kind of like all this winter weather…
